Top Azerbaijani academics and university rectors weigh forum of scientists

Famous academicians and rectors of prestigious Azerbaijani universities delivered speeches at the Forum of Azerbaijani Scientists Living Abroad, the Association of Azerbaijani Scientists Worldwide told TurkicWorld.

President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbayli mentioned that such events are a feather in the cap, rolled out at the state level.

"The forum will positively impact the organized and systematic orientation of contacts, which until now had been carried out individually and on a personal initiative. Holding the Forum of Azerbaijani Scientists Living Abroad is a well-thought-out step towards the restoration and future development of Karabakh. The forum will greatly contribute to enriching Azerbaijani science with new donors and gaining global recognition," he noted.

The importance of the forum in establishing new tasks, recognizing difficulties, and involving Azerbaijani scientists in global processes was highlighted by ANAS Vice President, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev, who argued that it serves the interests of modern Azerbaijan in scientific progress.

Rector of the University of Architecture and Construction Gulchohra Mammadova noted that the foundation for uniting the Azerbaijani diaspora and serving the interests of Azerbaijan was laid by the great leader Heydar Aliyev.

"I'm glad that this process continues today, and our diaspora is becoming more organized. I consider the Forum of Azerbaijani Scientists Living Abroad an important event for the benefit of our science and education. Worldwide, associations of professionals from various fields are forming, and it's very important for me that our scientists and specialists come together for such discussions. During the panels, extensive discussions take place, and interesting proposals arise. I view the forum’s work positively," she said.

Elmar Gasimov, Rector of the Baku Higher Oil School, emphasized that the event will facilitate scientific exchanges and the establishment of ties with Azerbaijani scientists residing overseas.

"The forum's accomplishments and success will be put to good use," he added.

Organized by the Association of Azerbaijani Scientists Worldwide with support from the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, the forum was held on September 9-11.

The forum has brought together more than 80 Azerbaijani scientists from 23 countries, as well as scientists and professors working in various scientific institutions of Azerbaijan, rectors of prestigious universities.
