Azerbaijani athlete to vie for bronze at World Cup in Spain

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. The U20 Wrestling World Championship continues in Pontevedra, Spain, TurkicWorld reports via İdman.biz.

According to information, Greco-Roman wrestlers in three more weight categories stepped on the carpet on the second day of the competition.

Three Azerbaijani wrestlers began their performance with qualification and one - with 1/8 finals.

Tavakkul Gaziyev defeated his rival Bayaman Karimov (Kyrgyzstan) with a score of 10:0. In the next fight he lost to Japan's Kajiro Hasegawa with a score of 3:7.

Ruslan Nurullaev defeated Moldavian Vasile Zabica 9:1 in the first bout. Then he defeated Indian Aakash Punian (5:3) and Croatian Luka Ivancic (8:0). In the semifinals, Nurullayev lost to Armenian Ashot Khachaturian 1:4. Our athlete will fight for the bronze medal.
