PARIS, France, August 8. Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov secured a bronze medal in the 67 kg weight category at the Paris Summer Olympics, TurkicWorld reports.
Jafarov achieved victory over Kyrgyzstan’s Amantur Ismayilov with a decisive 8:0 score, earning him a well-deserved 3rd place finish.
This latest win brings Azerbaijan’s total medal count to five. Judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelim Kotsoiev (100 kg) both claimed Olympic gold, while taekwondo athlete Gashim Magometov (58 kg) earned a silver medal. Boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg) has guaranteed at least a silver medal by advancing to the final.
