Azerbaijan's liberated territories' rehab run by UN sustainable dev plan - deputy FM

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The reconstruction of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan is carried out in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Plan, deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev said, TurkicWorld reports.

He spoke at the third "SDG Dialogue" on the theme "Outcomes of the Global SDG Summit 2023 and the Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in the Implementation of the SDGs".

"The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, rising poverty, and geopolitical tensions have further set back progress on sustainable development. After liberating lands that remained under occupation for almost 30 years, Azerbaijan has set as its main goal to ensure the recovery and reconstruction of these territories and the return of people to their native lands. This process is carried out in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Plan," Rafiyev said.

Baku hosts the third Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Dialogue on the theme "Outcomes of the Global SDG Summit 2023 and the Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in the Implementation of the SDGs".

The dialogue is co-chaired by the Chairman of the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development, the Supreme Audit Institution of Azerbaijan, and the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
