BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, on October 14.
According to the Azerbaijani Presidential Press Service, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities to expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bahrain.
During the meeting, Al Zayani conveyed greetings from Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to President Aliyev, emphasizing that the Bahraini monarch attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked the minister to convey his best wishes to the King of Bahrain.
The Azerbaijani leader highlighted the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries, describing their partnership as being at a high level.
President Aliyev noted that the Bahraini foreign minister's visit provided an important opportunity to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation and explore prospects for further strengthening ties.
Al Zayani congratulated President Aliyev on the extension of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), praising the country's leadership of the organization.
The two sides also exchanged views on developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bahrain in various fields, reaffirming their interest in strengthening bilateral relations.
