President Ilham Aliyev receives UAE National Security Adviser

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 14. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE National Security Adviser and Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, on September 14.

Sheikh Tahnoun conveyed greetings from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Aliyev. The Azerbaijani leader expressed his gratitude and asked Sheikh Tahnoun to convey his greetings to the UAE president.

During the meeting, the sides noted the successful development of strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of bilateral cooperation across various fields.

They emphasised the important role played by the personal friendship between the two presidents, as well as their mutual visits and meetings, in strengthening relations between the two countries.

The importance of the visit by a large UAE delegation to Azerbaijan was also highlighted in terms of discussing issues related to bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting, a signing ceremony was held in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Several agreements and memoranda were signed during the ceremony covering renewable energy, investment, mining, data centres, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and natural gas.

Among the documents was an agreement between Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company — Masdar and AGEC on cooperation in developing renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan.

A strategic cooperation agreement was also signed between Azerbaijan Investment Holding and L’IMAD HOLDING COMPANY PJSC.

AzerGold and Terra Mining Ltd signed an agreement on the joint assessment and exploration of mineral resources and mining areas in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and Group 42 Holding Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in developing data centre, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure in Azerbaijan.

Another agreement was signed between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, acting on behalf of Azerbaijan, and XRG SGC LIMITED concerning the Shareholders Agreement related to the Southern Gas Corridor CJSC.

The Ministry of Energy, SOCAR and Masdar also signed a document confirming the financial close of the 315 MW Neftchala solar photovoltaic project.
