BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. Nakhchivan will become one of the indispensable transport hubs, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijan Television in Nakhchivan.
The President noted that the transportation of around 15 million tonnes of cargo, or potentially more, through the Zangezur Corridor could generate significant economic activity in the region.
“Of course, the transportation of, say, 15 million tonnes, perhaps even more, of cargo through the Zangezur Corridor would lead to much greater activity,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
He added that the development of the corridor would create more jobs and increase economic activity in Nakhchivan.
“More jobs will be created, economic activity will increase, and Nakhchivan, I can say, will become one of the indispensable transport hubs. This is entirely possible,” the President said.
