Kyrgyzstan's passenger car imports from Georgia surge

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 9. Kyrgyzstan's import of passenger cars from Georgia increased threefold in the first five months of 2024, TurkicWorld reports.

Data from Kyrgyzstan’s statistical committee shows that the country imported 1,628 passenger cars from Georgia during this period, which is 3.6 times more than the 445 cars imported in the same period of 2023.

The value of these imports reached $25.56 million, tripling from $8.396 million in from January through May 2023.

In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 63,900 passenger cars in the first five months of 2024, worth over $1.049 billion.

The volume of imports rose by 54.5 percent compared to 41,363 cars in the same period in 2023. The value of these imports increased by 56 percent from $673.604 million during the period from January through May 2023.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.488 billion in the first five months of 2024, which is an 18.6 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Exports totaled $1.046 billion, a 4.8 percent rise from the first five months of 2023. Imports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, reaching $5.442 billion.
