ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 30. China Huadian Corporation is set to construct a gas-fired steam power plant in Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region, TurkicWorld reports.
The issue was reviewed during a visit of Yerzhan Elekeyev, Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST JSC to China, where he met with Jiang Yi, Chairman of China Huadian Corporation, to discuss the progress of the $190 million project.
It was noted that construction is expected to begin by the end of this year, with completion projected for 2027.
In addition to his discussions with China Huadian Corporation, Elekeyev also held meetings with other Chinese enterprises.
His visit comes on the heels of broader cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, including the signing of 30 commercial agreements across various sectors - energy, transport, investment, and technology transfer - totaling $16.54 billion in October 2023.
