ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 29. Kazakhstan and Mongolia have reached an agreement to enhance cooperation aimed at strengthening regional and international connections, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route - the Middle Corridor, TurkicWorld reports.
This agreement was finalized during President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev's recent visit to Ulaanbaatar.
During the discussions, President Tokayev emphasized the importance of improving transport and logistics. "One of our key objectives is to enhance the competitiveness of international corridors," he stated. "To achieve this, we need to improve transport connectivity between our countries and with third countries. This will help increase cargo transportation volumes through our territories. It is essential to effectively utilize the Trans-Caspian route and the North-South corridor."
As part of their efforts to expand trade and economic relations, the two nations agreed to boost air transport and establish direct flights between Astana and Ulaanbaatar. The countries also plan to gradually develop new transport and logistics routes, enhance cooperation in tourism, and increase interpersonal exchanges, highlighting the importance of fostering connections between their peoples.
Furthermore, the delegations discussed potential joint activities in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, transport and logistics, and energy, paving the way for deeper collaboration between Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
