Kazakhstan, Mongolia forge roadmap to elevate trade and economic cooperation

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 29. Kazakhstan and Mongolia have signed a roadmap aimed at enhancing trade and economic cooperation for the years 2025 to 2027, TurkicWorld reports.

The agreement was finalized following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Mongolia.

During a press conference to announce the signing of several key agreements, President Tokayev revealed that significant progress had been made in strengthening trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties between the two nations.

"Overall, there is every reason to believe that the negotiations were very successful. We agreed to activate economic contacts. Kazakhstan and Mongolia are among the largest countries in Asia, and our mutual trade should reflect that scale," Tokayev stated.

He highlighted that last year, the trade volume between Kazakhstan and Mongolia reached $150 million. Looking ahead, the President expressed optimism about increasing this figure to $500 million in the near future.

"To achieve this goal, we need to expand the range of goods exchanged and eliminate barriers to economic integration. The governments of both countries have been tasked with taking the necessary measures. Today, we signed a roadmap for enhancing trade and economic cooperation," he emphasized.
