As part of a working visit to Kazakhstan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov held a business meeting with representatives of the German business community in Astana.
The presidential press service said that welcoming representatives of German business, the head of state expressed confidence that this meeting will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the two countries.
The president said that Kyrgyzstan is actively moving towards sustainable development, the country's national economy continues to demonstrate positive dynamics of economic growth. He noted that favorable conditions are being created to protect investors and a set of regulations has been adopted aimed at increasing investor confidence, creating a favorable investment climate and business environment, including protecting property.
Sadyr Zhaparov drew the attention of the meeting participants to the fact that tax legislation is being improved by reducing the tax burden for business entities, and various benefits are provided to organizations of national or investment importance.
The president noted with satisfaction that, thanks to the measures being implemented to support the business sector by the state, the inflow of foreign direct investment into Kyrgyzstan is increasing, emphasizing that this year Germany is among the top five countries in terms of foreign investment.
Sadyr Zhaparov drew special attention of the business delegation members to the existing potential for cooperation with the Kyrgyz side in the field of construction of hydroelectric power plants and development of renewable energy sources, as well as in the field of logistics, and invited German logistics companies to take part in the implementation of strategic projects in Kyrgyzstan.
The head of state noted that in connection with climate challenges, projects for the construction of modern reservoirs, modernization of irrigation systems and the introduction of mechanized and drip irrigation technologies are of strategic interest.
In turn, the German delegation expressed the growing interest of German business in the development of cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of energy, hydropower, logistics, industry, and the development of vocational education for young people from Kyrgyzstan in Germany.
At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is open to an active dialogue with German business, noting the readiness to improve the conditions for doing business in the country.
