ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 6. Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has invited Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedow to visit Kazakhstan and participate in the sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the first Central Asia + Japan Dialogue Summit, which will be held in Astana, TurkicWorld reports.
According to official information, Tokayev extended the invitation during a telephone conversation with Berdimuhamedow.
The Turkmen leader accepted the invitation and expressed confidence that the initiatives discussed at these meetings will help define new opportunities for regional cooperation. He also wished for the successful conduct of these events.
The discussion covered the implementation of joint projects, particularly in the gas, energy, and transport sectors. Emphasizing the importance of the transport sector as a key area of interstate partnership, Presidents Berdymukhamedov and Tokayev highlighted the significance of following through on previously reached agreements.
It was noted that regular and trustful high-level contacts play a crucial role in advancing Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation.
