There are all reasons to believe Astana process will stabilize Syrian situation – Kazakh MFA

Kazakh deputy foreign minister Alibek Bakayev expressed hope that all the interested parties will find a political solution to the Syrian conflict during the 21st International High-Level Meeting on Syria in the Astana format, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

Over the past two days, the parties held important and informative talks aimed at further stabilizing the situation in Syria and improving its humanitarian situation. There are all reasons to believe that thanks to the Astana process the situation in Syria will considerably stabilize and move to the recovery period, said Bakayev.

The speaker went on to add that the difficult, seemingly, unresolved issues are to be effectively settled thanks to the large-scale efforts of the guarantor-states and the constant support of the UN.

In this regard, we hope all the interested parties will come to a political decision in terms of the conflict, making the most of the favorable situations created following the Astana process, concluded Bakayev.

The 22nd International High-Level Meeting on Syria in the Astana format is scheduled for the second half of 2024 in the Kazakh capital.

A joint statement of the representatives of Iran, Russia, and Türkiye was adopted following the 21st International High-Level Meeting on Syria in Astana.
