The second industrial park of Astana will become operational in 2025. This is what Temirlan Keldibayev, deputy chief of the municipal investment and entrepreneurship development department, said a briefing on Thursday, November 3, Kazinform News Agency reports.

He spoke on positive impact of No1 industrial park on the city’s industrial development.

He said the investment portfolio of No1 industrial park includes 97 projects with the total cost of 310.4 billion tenge.

As for No 2 industrial park, it will cover the area of 433,1 hectares and will hold 150 projects. Construction works will begin in 2024, while the first stage will be commissioned in 2025. The park will be divided into 10 major clusters, they are machine building, construction, wood processing, metallurgy, light, chemical and food industry, pharmaceutics, ICT, and ready production facilities. More than 150 investment projects will be placed here. The residents of No 2 industrial park will enjoy following preferences: exemption from customs duties and taxes, free sublease of land plots and attraction of foreign labor without quotas, Keldibayev said.

According to him, the authorities are currently working on creation of an agro-industrial zone to address the city's food security problems.

The goal of the project is attract investments in the country’s agro-industrial sector, which can become a driver in development of the city’s agro-industrial complex and will enable to implement modern agricultural technologies.

The project will let attract 30 investment projects and create 3,000 jobs.
