Farm product sales between Kazakhstan and Czech Republic hit USD 12 mln

The farm product turnover between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic grew by 40% this year to reach USD 12 million US dollars. The agriculture ministers of both nations debated the development of relations in the sphere of agriculture. The Czech delegation arrived in Astana to attend the Kazakhstan-Czech Business Forum, Kazinform Agency reports referring to the Agriculture Ministry’s press service.

The Kazakh Minister, Aidarbek Saparov, briefed on the country's agro-industrial complex lending programs, funding construction, and modernization of commercial dairy and poultry farms.

The minister suggested establishing close cooperation to import Czech cattle and poultry pedigree materials. For the past 10 years, Kazakhstan imported over 10,000 of Czech breeding stock, namely Simmenthal and Holstein breeds. Besides, Kazakhstan purchased some 8.8 million broiler chickens’ hatching eggs.

The ministers focused on technological retooling. As stated there, Zetor tractors JSC Czech distributor is interested in localizing farm and forest machinery in Kazakhstan. The minister offered companies to consider launching the relevant enterprises in Kazakhstan as CLAAS Gmh (Germany), SDF Group (Italy), PÖTTINGER Landtechnik GmbH (Austria) и HORSCH (Germany).
