BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC Zakir Ibrahimov has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Azerbaijan Berlian Helmi to discuss opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the mining and metallurgical industries.
The meeting focused on potential joint projects, investment partnerships and expanding trade relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia in the natural resources sector.
Zakir Ibrahimov informed the ambassador about AzerGold’s main achievements during its 10 years of operation and outlined the company’s strategic priorities for the next stage of development.
He noted that with continued state support, AzerGold has developed expertise and institutional capacity across the entire mining value chain, including geological exploration, mine development, extraction, processing and the construction and operation of production facilities.
Ibrahimov emphasized that one of AzerGold’s key goals for the coming period is to expand international activities, establish partnerships with foreign companies, implement joint projects in Azerbaijan and abroad, and enter new export markets.
The AzerGold chairman also highlighted opportunities created by Azerbaijan’s State Programme for the Development of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry for 2027–2030, which aims to advance the sector through international cooperation and new partnerships.
Ambassador Berlian Helmi said that several priorities of Azerbaijan’s state programme correspond with Indonesia’s development agenda in mining and metallurgy, creating potential areas for bilateral cooperation.
