BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Azerbaijan’s deposit portfolio, excluding the financial sector, grew by 4.2% to 39.4 billion manat ($23.2 billion) in the first half of 2026.
This is reflected in a report released by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
During the reporting period, term deposits increased by 8.5% to 17.4 billion manat ($10.2 billion) at the end of June, while demand deposits rose by 1.1% to 22.1 billion manat ($13 billion).
At the end of June, total deposits of legal entities increased by 2.6% from the beginning of the year to 21.6 billion manat ($12.7 billion). Demand deposits accounted for 72.2% of legal entities’ deposits, while term deposits made up 27.8%.
At the end of the first half of this year, manat-denominated deposits totaled 26.2 billion manat ($15.4 billion), while foreign-currency deposits amounted to the equivalent of 13.2 billion manat ($7.8 billion).
During the reporting period, the dollarization rate of deposits of individuals decreased by 2.9 percentage points to 27.9%, and for resident individuals - by 2.3 percentage points to 25.6%.
Interest rates on newly attracted deposits of individuals in manat decreased by 0.3 percentage points during the period.
The interest rate on newly attracted deposits of legal entities in manat amounted to 6.4% as of the end of June.
