French Alstom company is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, as well as in implementing the projects in the Azerbaijani lands liberated from Armenia’s occupation, Managing Director of Western and Central Asia Cluster at Alstom Kanat Alpysbayev said in an interview with TurkicWorld.
Alpysbayev said that Alstom is ready to provide Azerbaijani railways with all the necessary equipment both in the liberated territories and in other districts.
The managing director added that Azerbaijan is a strategically important market for Alstom.
“The level of development of Alstom's partnership with Azerbaijan Railways instills hope for the dynamic development of cooperation,” Alpysbayev added. “Our company, as a manufacturer and owner of technologies, is ready to provide Azerbaijan's railway routes with all the necessary equipment both in the liberated territories and in other districts.”
“We are ready to work on new projects and existing ones,” the managing director said. “Moreover, besides light rail, we can offer Azerbaijan the services for the development of intra-city infrastructure, modern, high-tech and quiet trains and trams which will transport people.”
Alpysbayev said that the implementation of these initiatives would be a good achievement in the development of urban infrastructure, as well as the creation of transport routes between cities and nearby districts.
“Alstom is ready to work with Azerbaijan on signalization and communication system projects in railway transport in Karabakh region,” the managing director stressed. “We are closely following the development of Azerbaijan and are ready to help in the implementation of the projects as part of the steps to develop transport infrastructure and restore Karabakh region, primarily, urbanization, the creation of transport routes among settlements and their development.”
“Our company has all the necessary equipment and technologies that could provide the Azerbaijani new railways with the necessary equipment,” Alpysbayev said. “We are ready to implement the light rail or suburban railway communication projects in the liberated Azerbaijani territories.”
The managing director said that Alstom has all the necessary technologies and products that together can meet the necessary needs of this region.
Alpysbayev stressed that Alstom's strategy in the CIS region is aimed at further expanding the cooperation with the Azerbaijani railways.
“One of the priority spheres for the development of our cooperation with the CIS countries, including those of interest to Azerbaijan, is to arrange the production of components for Alstom locomotives and their repair,” the managing director added.
Alpysbayev said that the implementation of these initiatives would be a good step for the further development of cooperation in creating modern facilities and ensuring the industrial development of the CIS countries, creating jobs there.
“We could jointly produce and repair equipment on the basis of the new depots in Azerbaijan,” the managing director added. “Alstom and Azerbaijan Railways company are not negotiating about the purchase of additional locomotives for Azerbaijan.”
Alpysbayev said that the supply of 40 freight locomotives for Azerbaijan Railways company fully covers its demand, it is possible to repair Alstom locomotives in modern depots built by the company.
