BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. Central Asian countries need to join efforts to develop renewable energy sources, the director general of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Francesco La Camera said at the COP29 Energy Transition Investment Forum for Central Asia, TurkicWorld reports.

"Hosting an investment forum dedicated to the energy transition under COP29 will play a key role in stimulating investment in the renewable energy sector in Central Asia. The region has huge potential in renewable energy. All Central Asian countries must join efforts to develop renewable energy sources," he said.

La Camera noted that investment in renewable energy is necessary to ensure energy security and to ensure the level and limitation of warming to 1.5 percent.
