Azerbaijan's energy minister holds series of meetings during COP29 event

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 13. Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Pakistan's Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik and CEO of CESI SpA Nicola Melchiotti within the framework of the COP event, TurkicWorld reports via Azerbaijan's Energy Ministry.

During the discussion with Pakistan's Minister of Petroleum and Water Resources, Musadik Masood Malik, satisfaction for the elevated state of relations between the two nations was articulated. The significance of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan's state visit to Pakistan in July this year was highlighted in enhancing bilateral relations to a new qualitative level and delineating potential avenues of cooperation in the energy industry. The potential for collaboration between the Pakistan State Oil Company (PSO) and SOCAR for the trade of oil products and oil and gas infrastructure projects was evaluated. The acceleration of bilateral consultations was seen.

Perspectives were also shared regarding collaboration in renewable energy. Pakistan has received an invitation to participate in COP29 energy initiatives.

At the same time, at the meeting with Nicola Melchiotti, Chief Executive Officer of CESI SpA, the current status of the feasibility study of the "Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor" project was discussed, and preliminary results of the study were assessed.

Discussions were also held related to the activities of CESI SpA, engaged as a consulting company for the feasibility study of the "Green Energy Development and Transmission Project between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan." The issues of Bulgaria joining the project, transportation of renewable energy from Central Asian countries through this corridor, infrastructure financing, and participation of European companies were discussed.
