BAKU, Kazakhstan, November 13. The compliance level of Kazakhstan with ICAO standards has reached 82 percent, which is comparable to the level of leading European countries, said President Tokayev during his meeting with President of the ICAO Council, TurkicWorld reports.
On the margins of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the President of of the ICAO Council, Salvatore Sciacchitano.
At the meeting with the head of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the prospects for the development of the aviation industry were discussed.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the implementation of successive measures to modernize airports, increase the fleet of aircraft, and introduce the "open skies" regime has significantly expanded the geography of flights and increased the number of international flights.
Salvatore Sciacchitano congratulated Kazakhstan on its impressive achievements in civil aviation and expressed his readiness to support the further strengthening of cooperation aimed at ensuring the safety and regularity of air transport.
He also expressed gratitude for the opening of Kazakhstan’s permanent mission to the Organization and announced plans to visit Astana next year.
