BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 22. Azerbaijan and Chinese Huawei eye development of a renewable energy-based data center, Azerbaijan’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on X, TurkicWorld reports.
"At the meeting with Kai Song, President of Public Relations of Huawei in China, we reviewed the prospects for cooperation in the field of green energy with the company, which presents progressive technological solutions. In the context of Azerbaijan's implementation of green energy corridors and fiber-optic cable projects between Europe and Asia, we discussed the development of a renewable energy-based data center with Huawei," he said.
Azerbaijan is engaged in a number of negotiations with Chinese companies in the field of renewable energy. Azerbaijan is exploring opportunities for cooperation with China in renewable energy, energy-saving systems, grid enhancement, the export of green energy, offshore wind energy, and the supply of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables, with extensive discussions on studying the latest practices.
Chinese companies have expressed interest in joining large-scale activities to realize the vast potential of renewable energy in Azerbaijan. They're currently sizing up the investment opportunities for building renewable energy plants in the region.
