NAKHCHIVAN, Azerbaijan, October 19. The exchange of electricity will be carried out between Nakhchivan and Türkiye, Deputy Head of the State Energy Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Tural Murtuzaliyev told TurkicWorld
He noted that works on exporting electricity from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to the Republic of Türkiye are currently underway.
"To carry out necessary studies on the possibilities of electricity exchange between Nakhchivan and Türkiye, meetings of the working group, established on August 3, 2021, with representatives of the relevant structures of the Republic of Türkiye were held on different dates. The issues of application of transformer and distribution substations, the current condition of transmission lines, location of meters, relay protection system, as well as TEIAŞ (Türkiye Electric Iletim Anonymous Company) services related to export and exchange of electricity and mutual documentation related to the conclusion of the relevant 'Operational Agreement' were discussed," he said.
Murtuzaliyev stated that the signing of the "Operational Agreement" is planned soon.
"The European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO) has approved the export of 75 megawatts (the Turkish side should be in passive island mode) and import of 40 megawatts (the Nakhchivan side should also be in passive island mode) in the process of import and export of electricity between Türkiye and Nakhchivan," he added.
