BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. SOCAR Green LLC has made substantial progress in several green energy initiatives, the company’s Director Elmir Musayev said at the Baku Climate Action Week, TurkicWorld reports.
"The transition to green energy and climate resilience has allowed SOCAR to expand its presence in the global market," Musayev stated.
He reminded attendees that the company's strategy aims for "Net Zero" by 2050.
Musayev noted that, as a young company operating since 2024, SOCAR Green has ambitious goals and has already made notable progress in various green energy projects.
"You may know that the potential for wind energy in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is 157 gigawatts. Given this, we are assessing project opportunities in this area in collaboration with our partner, Masdar," he added.
Musayev also highlighted partnerships with ACWA Power, bp, TotalEnergies, Uniper, and several Chinese energy companies.
