BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. On September 13, 2024, in Moscow, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov held the first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Russian financial dialogue, the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan said, TurkicWorld reports.
During the meeting, promising areas for enhancing cooperation were identified, such as analysis and forecasting of the profitability of the budget system, public debt management, as well as tax policy.
In addition, the parties noted that the financial departments of the two countries cooperate on certain issues of budget policy and audit activities. Azerbaijan and Russia coordinate interaction at multilateral platforms, such as the UN and the CIS, as well as in international financial institutions.
The participants of the financial dialogue exchanged assessments of the macroeconomic situation and new challenges, discussed practices for minimizing economic risks.
Following the financial dialogue, the parties agreed to move on to the implementation of practical steps on initiatives that meet the interests of the two countries and to hold technical consultations at the expert level.
