Kazakhstan, Congo discuss oil sector-driven scientific, technical cooperation

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 4. Kazakhstan and Congo have discussed prospects for scientific and technical cooperation in the oil sector, TurkicWorld reports.

The discussions took place between the Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas Askhat Khassenov and Francoise Joly, the personal representative of the President of the Republic of the Congo for strategic issues and international cooperation, and Maixent Ominga, Managing Director of the Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC).

The parties discussed exchanging scientific and engineering experience and benchmarking in geological research and field development. KMG Engineering specialists studied Congo fields and conducted feasibility assessments for field development projects.

The prospects for cooperation in the field of industrial networking and best practices for selecting equipment suppliers for the oil and gas industry and oil refineries were also discussed.

In addition, potential cooperation and exchange of experience in creating attractive conditions for large international investments in petrochemical projects were discussed.

Meanwhile, on August 4, Kazakhstan and Congo signed an agreement on cooperation in the oil and gas sector. Congo, the third-largest player in Africa's oil and gas sector, is actively cooperating with international companies such as Total Energies, Chevron and Eni.
