Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan to seal green energy development and transfer deal

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 12. The governments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan intend to sign an agreement on strategic partnership in the field of development and transfer of "green" energy, TurkicWorld reports.

According to the information, the Government of Kazakhstan has put the relevant document of the agreement up for public discussion on the portal "Open Laws and Regulations."

Thus, under the agreement, the parties aim to join forces and go the extra mile in the energy sector, including clean and renewable energy and energy efficiency, with a laser-like focus on clean energy sources.

Under this agreement, the countries are joining forces to work hand in hand in the transmission and supply of electricity generated from renewable energy sources. They aim to pinpoint projects for the production, transportation, and trade of eco-friendly hydrogen and ammonia. Additionally, they will establish the technical and commercial conditions, administrative rules, and other organizational requirements to guarantee the smooth sailing and uninterrupted transmission of electricity.

Moreover, driving home the significance of going green and keeping things spick and span in the worldwide effort to tackle climate change, the parties have every intention to foster collaboration in renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean hydrogen, and clean ammonia to enhance the security of energy systems and the stability of supply.

The document outlines the collaboration between the parties in transmitting and supplying electricity from their clean energy sources to Europe and other regions. It also emphasizes the importance of cooperation in adopting new technologies, promoting energy efficiency and conservation services, and exploring opportunities in the production, transportation, and trade of clean energy sources.

Meanwhile, both parties will work towards bolstering current domestic infrastructure and establishing new connections to facilitate trade and electricity transmission.

In addition, the parties are interested in collaborating to investigate technical and financial matters concerning the connection to the Black Sea Submarine Transmission Line. They will also consider options for utilizing their current infrastructure or constructing new infrastructure to facilitate the transportation of clean hydrogen and clean ammonia.

The parties will form a steering committee to put the agreement into motion.

Decisions will be made by the steering committee by mutual agreement.

The agreement is signed for the long haul and will kick in on the thirtieth day after the depositary gives the green light to the other parties that all the necessary ducks are in a row for the agreement to take effect.
