BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. The high-level event on "International Aviation and Climate Change" will be held in Baku on November 20 within COP29, TurkicWorld reports.
The event, which will be organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), will convene ministers, government officials, industry leaders, and stakeholders to engage in an important dialogue on the latest developments in the decarbonization of international aviation.
The event will focus on the following issues:
- staying ahead of global action to reduce emissions from the aviation industry;
- opportunities for ICAO Member States and the aviation industry to collaborate with other stakeholders and financial institutions to achieve Net Zero by 2050;
- the emerging need to further develop international policies and frameworks aimed at reducing civil aviation emissions;
- the most important areas that industry, academia, governments, and international organizations should focus on to achieve Net Zero.
To note, this event will be held on Transport Day, and the panel discussions are open to anyone with accreditation to enter the COP29 Blue Zone.
