The volume of investments from Korea to Uzbekistan exceeds $7 billion

Uza. The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Executive Vice President of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association Kim Chang Keon.

Mrs. Narbayeva focused on the agreements reached during the delegation’s working visit led by the Senate Chairperson to South Korea. Several other issues were discussed in detail, such as introducing new investment projects in manufacturing sectors, creating a complex for processing solid household waste on the basis of landfills, establishing joint transport and logistics companies, and supporting women’s education.

The parties exchanged views on strengthening investment cooperation and attracting leading companies of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan.

Kim Chang Keon noted that South Korean business people are interested in investing in Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that the country has excellent opportunities for developing small and medium-sized businesses and exporting agricultural products grown in the country, in addition to Korea, Japan, and China.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the implementation of investment projects.
