Uza. At the 20th Malaysia International Travel Mart (MITM 2023) taking place in the capital of Malaysia, with the assistance of representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the country’s tourism potential is presented, and B2B meetings are organized between tour operators of the two countries.

More than 100 Malaysian tour operators and tourism industry representatives, as well as airlines from Uzbekistan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, China, and the Philippines, are participating in the fair.

During the presentation, dedicated to the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, detailed information was provided on the large-scale measures being implemented in the country to advance the development of modern tourism infrastructure and diversify tourism services. Tourist products of historical and contemporary tourist centers of Uzbekistan are presented, including Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Surkhandarya regions, and the city of Tashkent. In particular, the opportunities created for tourists at Samarkand International Airport and Samarkand International Tourist Center “Silk Road” were noted.

Due to the simplification of the visa regime in recent years, a visa-free procedure for the entry of citizens of more than 90 foreign states, including Malaysia, has been operating. In addition, Uzbekistan Airways opened direct flights between Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur.

At B2B meetings, direct cooperation was established between the tour operators of Uzbekistan and Malaysia. Specific agreements were reached on launching new tour packages to Uzbekistan in collaboration with tour operators and attracting an additional 500 tourists to the country by the end of the year.
