Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will be elected chairman of the Nur Otan party soon, the first president of the country - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev said in his address to the Kazakh people, TurkicWorld reports on Jan.18 referring to the address.

"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has full power. He’s the chairman of the Security Council. Therefore, there is no conflict or confrontation in the elite. Rumors on this topic are absolutely groundless," Nazarbayev further said.

Noting that Tokayev has put forward a new reform program aimed at improving the welfare of the people, the first president called to support this program.

"Thank you for supporting my course of reforms and modernization, which I pursued when being the head of state," concluded Nazarbayev.
