Azerbaijan reveals number of former IDP families returned to their homeland

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. A total of 137 families, or 474 people resettled in the districts liberated from occupation, are former IDPs who temporarily lived in apartments and houses belonging to other citizens, TurkicWorld reports via Azerbaijan's State Committee for Refugees and IDPs.

Meanwhile, it was noted that following the I State Program "Great Return" to the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation, the return of IDPs to their native lands continues.

"All conditions for comfortable and safe residence of inhabitants have been created in towns and villages where necessary socio-technical infrastructure meeting modern requirements has been created. The resettlement of families is carried out in houses built in stages following the schedule of reconstruction and construction works in the territories liberated from occupation. To date, 2,235 families and 8,543 people have been resettled in Aghali village of Zangilan district, Talish village of Aghdara district, the Fuzuli and Lachin towns, Zabukh and Sus villages of Lachin district, Shusha, Khojaly, and Jabrayil cities. Of these, 137 families, or 474 people, are former IDPs who temporarily lived in apartments and houses belonging to other citizens," the statement reads.
