Azerbaijan intends to stiffen fines for environmental pollution by tobacco waste

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. It is proposed to toughen fines for environmental pollution by tobacco waste, TurkicWorld reports.

Meanwhile, this is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses.

According to the proposed amendment, the size of the fine for environmental pollution by tobacco waste is increased from 50 manat ($29.3) to 300 manat ($176.3). At the same time, for the repeated commission of the said misdemeanor by the person who received an administrative penalty within one year from the date of entry into force of the decision on administrative penalty, a fine of 700 manat ($411.3) or, under the circumstances of the case, from 60 to 100 hours of community service shall be imposed, considering the personality of the perpetrator.
