As of September 1, 2024, out of 1,570,205 taxpayers registered in the country, 87.2 percent were individuals, and 12.8 percent were legal entities and other organizations, TurkicWorld reports referring to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, it was noted that the total number of taxpayers increased by 89,947 units (6.1 percent) compared to the corresponding period of last year, including individuals - by 76,266 units (5.9 percent), legal entities - by 13,681 units (7.3 percent). The number of commercial organizations registered as of September 1 amounted to 184,820 units.
A total of 8,741 commercial organizations underwent state registration from January through August 2024, of which 7,791 (89.1 percent) were enterprises with domestic investment and 950 (10.9 percent) were enterprises with foreign investment. Of these, 7,117 (81.4 percent) commercial organizations that passed state registration were registered electronically, of which 5,726 - were based on applications through Asan Imza, 1,372 - through Finkod+Mobile, and 19 - were through digital signature “SIMA”.
The number of active VAT payers as of September 1, 2024, within the commercial organizations that underwent state registration amounted to 38,564 units, increasing by 15.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2023. The share of VAT payers in the total registration amounted to 32.1 percent. As of this date, 91.2 percent of commercial legal entities registered by the State are limited liability companies, 1.2 percent are joint stock companies, 1.1 percent are cooperatives, etc.
