BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. The closing ceremony of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games is currently underway in Paris, TurkicWorld reports.
The event features a parade of nations at the Stade de France, where Azerbaijan’s flag will be carried by Olympic taekwondo silver medalist Hashim Magomedov and Zeynab Hummatova, a member of the rhythmic gymnastics team that finished 5th in the competition.
Azerbaijani athletes won seven medals at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, tying for 30th-31st place with Croatia. Judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) became Olympic champions for the Azerbaijani national team. Silver medals were earned by taekwondo fighter Gashim Magomedov (58 kg), boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg), Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg), and freestyle wrestlers Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg).
Azerbaijan was represented by 48 athletes competing in 15 sports at these Summer Olympics.
