Hungary eyes to take part in reconstruction, restoration of Azerbaijan's Karabakh

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Hungary is developing a plan for its participation in the reconstruction and restoration of Azerbaijan's Karabakh, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said during the 10th session of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary, TurkicWorld reports.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan and Hungary are friends and strategic partners, while relations between them are based on values rather than expectations.

"There are growth rates of trade turnover between our countries. Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the trade turnover in January-February 2024 increased by 40.49 percent," Szijjártó noted.

Speaking about the plan for participation in the reconstruction and restoration of Karabakh, he added that this plan will be completed by November this year and the industries in which Hungarian companies can participate will be identified.

To note, Baku hosted the 10th session of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary.

The one-on-one meeting was attended by a delegation headed by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and a delegation headed by Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev. The parties discussed the present status of relations between the two nations and the topics slated for the meeting agenda.
