Signing of documents on co-op between Azerbaijan, Hungary contributes to dev't of relations - minister

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The signing of the Joint Declaration on Expanded Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary last year, as well as several other documents on cooperation, served in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev said, TurkicWorld reports.

He made the remark during the 10th session of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary.

Babayev underscored that the elevation of relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary to the status of strategic partnership is attributable to the political determination and endeavors of both countries' heads of state.

"The trade turnover between our nations has shown significant growth, with trade with Hungary increasing by 40.49 percent from January through February 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The significance of business forums, meetings, and other events hosted in Baku and Budapest in fostering relationship development was underscored," he said.

To note, Baku hosted the 10th session of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary.

The one-on-one meeting was attended by a delegation headed by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and a delegation headed by Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev. The parties discussed the present status of relations between the two nations and the topics slated for the meeting agenda.
