Kazakhstan interested in promotion of health cooperation with S Korea

Kazakhstan is interested in the promotion of health cooperation with South Korea, Kazakh Deputy PM - foreign minister Murat Nurtleu told the 16th South Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum in Ashgabat, Kazinform Agency reports.

He said the introduction of South Korea’s best practices in rehabilitation medicine in the healthcare and education sector in Kazakhstan is a successful model of cooperation between the two states. The minister noted by 2025 Kazakhstan plans to increase the share of production of homegrown pharmaceuticals by up to 50%. To this end, he stressed the development of the agreement on joint studies of drug raw materials in Central Asia as the most pressing.

He reminded those present of Kazakhstan’s initiative to build an International Agency for Biological Safety. Its launch will become the common practical contribution to raising global standards in this sensitive sector.
