Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative meets with UNODC Regional Representative in Central Asia

Ambassador Mukhtar Tileuberdi, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the International Organisations in Vienna met with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative in Central Asia Ashita Mittal, Kazinform cites the press service of the Kazakh MFA.

Regional Representative thanked the Government of Kazakhstan for supporting the UNODC activities in Central Asia, including the allocation of voluntary contributions.

The Kazakh diplomat, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the Head of the Regional Office for the active support of the country’s initiatives, including the promotion and effective functioning of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Drug Trafficking (CARICC).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and priorities of cooperation in such areas as reforms of law enforcement agencies, combating drug trafficking and organized crime, countering cybercrime, as well as plans for new projects and joint activities.
