A ministerial meeting will be held in Qatar on Sunday in preparation for the Arab-Islamic summit that Doha will host tomorrow after Israel’s unprecedented strikes targeting Hamas leadership in the Qatari capital, TurkicWorld reports citing Al Arabiya.
Monday’s meeting would consider “a draft resolution on the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar” to be drafted Sunday at the ministerial meeting, Qatari foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said on Saturday.
The summit reflected “broad Arab and Islamic solidarity with the State of Qatar in the face of Israel’s cowardly aggression... and the categorical rejection of Israel’s state terrorism,” al-Ansari said, quoted by the official Qatar News Agency.
The summit comes after Israel attempted to assassinate Hamas senior leaders in an air strike on Qatar on Tuesday, escalating its military campaign in the Middle East and prompting a flurry of international condemnations.
