Bishkek, Feb. 2, 2023. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will pay an official visit to Pakistan. This became known following the meeting of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Ulanbek Totuyaev with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the meeting, the sides considered a wide range of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Pakistani bilateral cooperation, paying special attention to the quality organization of upcoming visits and events at the highest and high levels, strengthening the military-technical, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction between the two countries, as well as the implementation of important regional projects such as CASA-1000.

Totuyaev noted the interest of the Kyrgyz Republic in the comprehensive development of interstate cooperation and proposed to intensify work on political contacts, increase the volume of mutual trade, intensify investment cooperation and establish effective logistics routes between Central and South Asia.

The prime minister of Pakistan expressed gratitude for political support, readiness to further strengthen cooperation, as well as assistance to the Kyrgyz side in the fight against the consequences of the flood and conveyed words of gratitude to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov for condolences. He stressed that Pakistan is interested in promoting cooperation with the countries of the region, given the common interests and positions on many issues.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to jointly work out the issue of organizing an official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Pakistan in the first half of this year.
