Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan calls on Tajik MFA not to escalate situation with provocative information about situation on border

BAKU. Kabar:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan calls on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan not to escalate the situation by spreading provocative and unreliable information about the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said, reports TurkicWorld with the reference Kabar.

“We consider the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan dated September 21, 2022 as another attempt to mislead the world community regarding the events taking place on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, adding fuel to the fire with our unfounded suspicions.

As of September 21, 2022, the Kyrgyz side fulfilled all the points of the last Protocol signed by Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Kamchybek Tashiev and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Saimimun Yatimov.

The assumptions of the Tajik Foreign Ministry about the presence of forces and means of the Kyrgyz side in the border areas with Tajikistan, as well as violations of its airspace by UAVs allegedly flying from the territory of Kyrgyzstan, do not correspond to reality.

In turn, the Tajik side did not fully withdraw heavy military equipment to the points of permanent deployment, part of which is located in the border areas.

Moreover, the Tajik side, in violation of previously reached agreements, is creating "appearance" of withdrawing heavy equipment, disguising them as civilian transport, and placing them in residential areas of the border settlements of Vorukh, Khodjailoo, Surkh and Lyakkon.

Despite the repeatedly recorded facts of provocative shots in the Vorukh enclave of and in the area of the Kyzyl-Art border pass, the Kyrgyz side strictly observes the ceasefire regime.

While the competent authorities are carrying out laborious work to monitor and stabilize the situation at the border, such rash and careless statements by the Tajik Foreign Ministry nullify all efforts to create an atmosphere of trust.

The Kyrgyz side, as always, strictly adheres to the agreements reached and calls on the Tajik side to fulfill its obligations in the same conscientious manner, including within the framework of the Protocols signed by the parties.
