On September 20, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.

The heads of state exchanged views on the recent tragic events on Kyrgyzstan – Tajikistan border. The President of Uzbekistan expressed his deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, and sincerely welcomed the achievement of bilateral agreements on de-escalation of the situation.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the fruitful results of the events held within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit program.

The importance of practical implementation of agreements on priority cooperation projects, including the promotion of the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway construction project, was emphasized.

The course of preparations for the upcoming high-level meetings, including within the framework of regional structures, was also considered.
