Kyrgyz ambassador briefs Saudi Arabian MFA on Tajik aggression

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Waleed Al-Khuraiji, the diplomat wrote on his Facebook page, reports TurkicWorld with the reference to Kabar.

During the meeting, the ambassador informed the Saudi side in detail about the tragic events that occurred on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border on Sept. 14-17, as well as the planned act of militarized aggression of Tajikistan against Kyrgyzstan.

The clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border started on Sept. 14.

The Tajik side attacked border guarding and civilian infrastructure objects of Kyrgyzstan along the perimeter of the state border in Batken Oblast. Tajikistan used heavy armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and aircraft in an attempt to seize the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Tajik military destroyed the infrastructure of outposts, as well as schools, kindergartens, retail outlets, first-aid posts, and houses. Shouting nationalist slogans, they showed blasphemy and subjected the bodies of the border guards of the Kyrgyz Republic who died at the post to mockery.

An emergency regime has been introduced in Batken Oblast.
