Baku. TurkicWorld:

Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Turkmenistan are actively cooperating in the OSCE project to promote "green" ports in the Caspian Sea region in order to make trade from Central Asia to Europe safer, faster and environmentally friendly, told TurkicWorld.

"Green ports are the OSCE's trade project in the region. In this sense, the OSCE hopes that cooperation will make a significant contribution to economic growth in Turkmenistan," the organization said.

The aim of the project is to facilitate trade flows from Asia to Europe through the Caspian Sea, making them faster, cheaper and more sustainable. In addition to Turkmenistan, the OSCE project covers Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Through this innovative project the OSCE is making a contribution to strengthening regional sustainability, connectivity, security and economic growth across the Caspian Sea Region.

The regional approach, advocated by the OSCE for this project, aims at strengthening regional between the main ports of these three countries. This will be achieved by establishing a digital platform to reduce trade costs, facilitate information exchange and increase overall efficiency and security along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
