Bishkek, Jan. 19, 2022. / Kabar /. A new strain of the coronavirus - Omicron has spread throughout the country, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov told at a meeting of the Parliament.

He informed the parliamentarians about the change in the algorithm of actions.

“Now, even if we close schools, restrict the economy, there will be no sense. Omicron came, spread, everyone was already infected. If earlier, if someone tested positive for coronavirus infection, they closed the classroom, institutions, now there is no such need,” Edil Baisalov said.

The Cabinet deputy chairman noted that at present all hospitals are ready to receive patients.

“Omicron is mild and 90 percent do not need hospitalization. In addition, after the disease, natural immunity appears. If you hospitalize everyone who is mildly ill, they will take all the beds. There will be no free places for seriously ill patients,” he said and, noting the importance of vaccination, urged citizens to actively get vaccinated against COVID-19.
