Kyrgyzstan makes progress in combating smuggling

Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2021 . / Kabar / . During a press conference at Kabar News Agency, Chairman of the Tax Service under the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan Altynbek Abduvapov said the country is making progress in the fight against smuggling from countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

"Once we receive information on smuggling from the Russian side, the situation with smuggling will become much more transparent by the end of the year," the head of the agency said.

Abduvapov noted the Tax Service will continue to work on improving tax administration in 2022, as one of the main functions of the Service is to ensure the collection of taxes, insurance premiums and other payments.

"An emphasis will be placed on 3 main areas of activity, including:

1) improving the administration of indirect taxes when importing goods from EAEU member states;

2) implementation of the transition to the full fiscalization of tax procedures SMART Salym with the introduction of a new version of the Tax Code of Kyrgyzstan;

3) implementation of new provisions of the Tax Code," he added.
